Reverse Designing of Batman: Arkham Asylum and its Review

Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Asylum is a pure gem of stealth mechanics & choreographed combat moves.when you start  playing this game, you feel yourself as B-man promoting the welfare of human beings from villains of Arkham Asylum. If you're not fan of B-man then this game series would change your state of mind.

Its a game where YOU - Batman plays as World's greatest detective (as obvious) solving the traps, missions which were set by Main villan -joker. In addition to Joker, B-man Arkham Lore involves other bosses such as Harley Quinn,Poison Ivy,Bane,Victor Zsasz,Scarecrow,Titans,Killer Croc many Goons (prisoners) and accompanied with acquaintances such as Quincy sharp,Oracle,Police officers etc. Most of the game you progress-in playing the main story(Rescuing trapped Doc's & Cops, solving puzzles, finding lost Notes/transcripts).In addition to main story you can spent quite handful of hours solving 240 riddles/puzzles which were challenged by the RIDDLER (aka Enigma) which will keep you busy in arkham Island.

You believe yourself has B-man as you progress equipping the cool tech(mechanics) like Grapple GunBatclaw, Line launcher ,Batrangs, Cryptographic sequencer, Explosive gel  (belongings & locale) such as  Batcopter and BatCave. You play most of the time in "Detective mode" searching for forensic trails, navigating the location coordinates destroying destructible walls. You even have side-quest of solving "Spirit of amadeus" which is fore-gone forgotten tale of arkham resident.

# Tools/Weapons used by B-man #

1) Grapple Gun
2) Batclaw - Ordinary & Ultra Batclaw
3)Batrangs - Ordinary & Remote Controlled
4)Line Launcher
5)Cryptographic Sequencer - to bypass electronic gates
6)Explosive Gel
7)Cape to stun

# Game mechanics #

1) Use of Vents to navigate areas in stealth.
2)Cryptographic sequencer to destroy electrified jammers using waves of frequency to tune match-up and destory is purely tech-savvy.
3)Use of Grapple Gun on Gargoyle to move to-and-fro.
4)Use of Explosive Gel to detonate the walls.
5)Use of Cape to fly around.
6)Use of Line launcher to knock down Goons and traverse.

# Enemies/Bosses #

1)Joker - and his Goons
    a) Unarmed Prisoners
    b) Armed Prisoners
    c) Electric wire holding prisoners
d)Goons dressed in RED holding IRON BLADES which you fight using cape to stun.
    e) Lunatics & mindless patients of asylum
2)Titans and henchman
3)Poison Ivy
4)Victor Zsasz
5)Bane
6)Scarecrow - and his skeleton troops
7) Harley Quinn
8)Killer Croc

# Hazards #

1)Poisonous plants which expel harmful toxins from openings of flower petals.
2)self-destructing timer-ized Gargoyle's (They also act as game mechanic in non-timer scenario's)

# Pro's #

1)Batman's look 'n' armored suit design deserves all the respect (I even know a fact that a Dev team guy spent an entire year designing-redesigning the cape movements to be authentic and unquestionable )

2)Joker's and Harley Quinn's voice acting is lively with great dialogue writing-pun,wit and with interesting vocal variations.

3)Batcave's environmental design is impressive and makes us feel  as if we delve in it.

4)Excellent Boss battles with Bane,TITANs,Quinn's goons trapped onto electrified floors with Timer based  fights were fascinating.
->Poison Ivy's climax fight with her combat moves of hurling Fireballs & weakpoint at the center of enormous flower plant is well fitted into Act appreciable and noticed.

5)Arkham Asylum lore is very Deep which seems Dev's have put alot of effort in researching of B-man comics, movies, animation films.(You have character Bio's & figures to unlock and read all about them )

6)B-man's Lil nightware villain -scarecrow (who always comes in dreams or imaginations) you encounter him in fights about 3-4 times in whole game, the first 2 times is crafted well with using mechanic like Batclaw for hide'n'seek and breaking the illusion of imagination by pointing Bat-signal onto scarecrow is appreciated.

7) Killer Croc's hunt while collecting plant spore's is dreadful & heart pounding (until you know how to tackle him down)

8)Destroying JOKER's moving Teeth is fun (as well pain when you dont hit the unlockable of X5,X10,X20 and its tiresome when you again search for them).

9)Designing of achievements such as "Perfect knight" where you need to complete 100%  of the game such as 240 riddles/puzzles and get All Gold ratings on every predator and Combat challenges seems really haaarrrdddddd and argh!

10) 9/10 times goons A.I is flautless and best.

11)Surreal puzzle design as "?" matching is not expected and jaw-dropping thought in first.

12)Ambiance & Asylum's impression-n-look is well depicted.

13)Map designs such as to navigate from Blocks(or Cell chamber) to sub locale block areas seem intentional designs due to optimizing and memory limitations which are purposeful and reasonable world design.

14) Use of Interview Tapes to know the lore and personality of Patients fits well into narrational designs.

15)Cutscene's & Scene transitions such as Scarecrow's nightmares, Thomas & Martha Wayne's dead corpse at Post-mortem and murder scene at narrow alley is distributing and grief-stricken.

16)Last but not least B-man's swift acrobatic combat  moves were astonishing.

# Cons #

1) Ending Joker's boss fight has Joker Titan is Dull though variety of henchman & teeth bombs were diverse
(Yes I found to be with only 1 con from my opinion )

Token of appreciation
I would like to thank to all the Dev's,Designers,Voice actors and Production Managers for giving such a flawless Super-heroic Game series.
